A banker’s answer to how trade finance is taught.

Sage Financial Academy is a specialist institute for foreign exchange and international trade finance. It was founded by a banker who spent eighteen years on the desk, and built on one belief: if you can see it, you can learn it.

Eighteen years on the desk. Now at the whiteboard.

Ram Krishan Singh brings over 18 years of deep-domain expertise in trade finance, foreign exchange and banking operations.

He bridges the gap between complex regulatory requirements and efficient business operations: the space where a letter of credit, a remittance or a FEMA rule has to work in real life, on a real deadline, for a real customer. Across his career he has made strategic contributions at some of India's leading private sector banks.

That experience is what shapes every SFA programme. The syllabus is not written from a textbook. It is written by someone who has checked the documents, faced the discrepancies and signed off on the decisions, and who knows exactly where learners get stuck.

OUR STORY

Why Sage Financial Academy exists.

THE DESK

1

Good people, stuck on the rulebook

On the trade and forex desk, the same pattern kept repeating. Capable bankers and new joiners memorised rules they did not really understand, and forgot them just as quickly.

THE QUESTION

2

Why is this taught as paragraphs?

Trade finance is money, documents and goods moving between parties. It is something you can picture. Yet it was almost always taught as dense text, in the rulebook's own words.

THE ANSWER

3

Teach it the way it actually moves

Sage Financial Academy was built to show the work before explaining the rule, using visuals, animation and real situational documents, and a method designed around how memory works.

OUR VISION

Foreign exchange &
Trade Finance, for everyone.

To make foreign exchange and trade finance knowledge available to everyone, and to pioneer the teaching of these concepts through visuals.

Available to everyone

Specialist knowledge should not be locked inside banks. Freshers, bankers, exporters and business owners should all be able to learn it.

Pioneering visual teaching

We want to be the institute that changed how trade finance is taught: seen first, understood next, remembered for good.

OUR MISSION

What we do, every day.

1

See it before you read it

Every concept is taught as a visual first, then in the rulebook's own words, so the rule always has a picture to hang on.

2

Open to every learner

Specialist knowledge, priced and paced so anyone who wants it can learn it: at their own pace, from anywhere, with weekend doubt clearing.

3

Ready for the real desk

Preparation that carries you through the exam, the interview panel and the job itself, built on real situational documents and cases.

4

Guided, not left alone

Mentorship and expert guidance from people who have done the job, so every learner knows their next step.
